| Salvage Yard |
A Salvage Yard is a place where wrecked and ruined
vehicles are brought. Salvage vehicles which are brought in salvage yards are
damaged to such an extent that it cannot be repaired. If repaired its cost is
more than the market value of a new car. The usable spare parts of these
vehicles are sold to be fitted in the operative vehicles but the scrap metal is
sold to the automobile companies to be recycled. A salvage title is given to
all damaged vehicles whose cost of repair is more than 70% of the market value.
